access online registration, get a copy of the pledge form, and get some
great pledging tips!
Note that your team captain must register the team, and pay the $275
registration fee online. This year, we're asking for a minimum $100 in
pledges per participant.
What is online
fundraising?
You're busy. You know how time consuming mailing letters or contacting
and speaking with family and friends by phone can be. Online
fundraising gives you the option to use the convenience of the Internet
to send out a fully personalized email to your friends, co-workers,
family members and business contacts. Just imagine -- your community
can celebrate Pull for a Cure with you
this year by giving a donation online! With the on-line system you can:
Email your on-line donation form out to supporters, monitor your
progress on-line, set up your donation page and profile. Using our
online fundraising is a simple and easy way for you to encourage your
friends, family and co-workers to respond to and support the charity
you care so much about.
How do I get
started?
Getting started in 4 easy steps:
- Registering.
- Joining your team.
- Creating and personalizing your own webpage.
- Sending emails to your friends and family and
soliciting donations.
- Making donations securely and getting a receipt in
seconds.
Step 1 - Registering
Click on the LINK
and it will take you to the Pull for a Cure start page. Then click
on"Sign Up" in the top left corner. Read the Waiver, and click the
circle "I Accept", (If participant is under 18 years of age, parent or
guardian must sign a printed copy of the Waiver). Click one of the
following circles, "An Individual", "A Team Captain", or "A Team
Member".
- If you are setting up a team,
click on "A Team Captain", Enter your Team Name and Team Description.
Enter your contact information and set up ID and password. Follow
through the rest of the steps to complete the registration.
- If you are joining a team,
click on "A Team Member", Enter the Team Name or the Captain's Name to
search for your team. A list will appear with Team Name and Team
Captain information. Please click on your team, then confirm your team
by clicking on "Join this Team". Enter your contact information and set
up ID and password. Follow through the rest of the steps to complete
the registration.
- If you are an individual,
click on "An Individual, and enter your contact information and set up
ID and password. Follow through the rest of the steps to complete the
registration.
Step 2 - Creating
and personalizing your own webpage. This is your opportunity to
promote your commitment to cancer research and patient care at Princess
Margaret Hospital, perhaps by telling your personal story with a photo.
It's simple. Just click on "My Donation Page" and fill in your reasons
for supporting cancer research and patient care at Princess Margaret
Hospital, then you can browse your files to upload a personal picture.
Now click on "My Goal" and enter the amount of your personal
fundraising goal.
Step 4 - Sending
emails
To personalize the email so people don't think you have sent spam
(system generate mail comes from Pull for a Cure) Please click on
the"Solicit Others" link on the left navigation bar and enter your
email address. This will send an email to you with the link for
pledging. Then you can forward from your email box along with a
personal message and subject line to send an email to solicit
sponsorships. You can also do this directly by adding the peoples names
in however we find people are more likely to respond when it comes from
you.
Step 5 - Making a
donation
Your e-mail donation request includes a link to "My Donation Page."
When your friends, family and contacts arrive at your personalized
page, they will see your text and picture. Your sponsor will be
prompted to click on "sponsor me" to provide personal and payment
information, using their credit card. Once processed, your sponsor
receives a "thank you" email and an electronic tax receipt almost
immediately. The Web site uses secure SSL technology to safeguard all
credit card information. Watch your fundraising dollars grow! Use your
ID and password to login to the website - invite more friends, keep
track of your donations and view your sponsors.
