Pledging Tips
Tips for Collecting Pledges
- Set a goal for yourself and encourage others to help you reach it.
- Make an initial pledge to yourself for an amount that will set the standard of giving.
- Don't be afraid to ask - the worst anyone can say is "no" - you'll still be respected for your altruism.
- Let people know why you are raising the money and what it means to you - inspire them!
- Ask family, friends, co-workers, neighbours, people at your church, gym, clubs and associations - don't just ask them for a pledge but ask them to help you by using their contacts.
- Ask your employer about giving a pledge on behalf of the company or about matching the total amount that you raise.
- Everyone is a potential donor - Ask a friend, family members, neighbours, people at your church, gym, clubs and associations and people who provide you with services - i.e. dentists, doctors, hairdressers etc.
- Create your own "goal chart" to visually show people how close or far you are to reaching your personal goal - it will act as an incentive to get you further.
- Have FUN! It will be infectious to those around you! Thank you for your support to Pull for a Cure Charity Tournament and to helping raise funds for cancer research and patient care at Princess Margaret Hospital.
